Ingredients
1 loaf bread (about 10–12 cups, cubed)
5 large eggs
1 ½ cups milk
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut bread into cubes and spread evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, pressing lightly so all pieces soak up the custard.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter and use a fork or your hands to combine until a crumbly topping forms.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the casserole.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Finish with powdered sugar and maple syrup if desired.
